SSC CGL DEST Previous Year – Role of Youth in Nation Building
Back to All Tests15:00
The youth of a nation are its most precious asset. They are the future of the country and the custodians of its traditions and values. A nation's progress depends largely on the energy, creativity and commitment of its young people. India is a young country with more than 65 percent of its population below the age of 35 years. This demographic dividend can be a great advantage if the youth are properly educated and skilled. However, if the youth are not given adequate opportunities, they can become a source of social unrest. The Government has recognised the importance of harnessing the potential of the youth and has launched several initiatives for their benefit. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana aims to provide vocational training to millions of young people. The Start-up India initiative encourages young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. The National Service Scheme and the National Cadet Corps help to instil discipline and a sense of social responsibility in young people. Young people must also take responsibility for their own development. They should pursue education with dedication and be willing to work hard to achieve their goals. They should be aware of the social and environmental challenges facing the country and actively participate in addressing them. Volunteerism and community service are important virtues that young people should cultivate. The youth must also uphold the values of democracy, secularism and social justice that form the foundation of our republic.
