The environment is the sum total of all living and non-living elements and their effects that influence human life. While all living or biotic elements are animals, plants, forests, fisheries and birds, non-living or abiotic elements include water, land, sunlight and air. Environmental conservation is the practice of us humans saving the environment from the loss of species, and the destruction of the ecosystem. Environmental conservation is the protection, lifting, and improvement of the human environment. It involves recycling, reducing waste, stopping pollution, planting trees, and protecting endangered animals and plants. We all know that our environment is getting worse and worse every day due to human activities. Air, water and soil are being polluted at an unprecedented rate. Deforestation is destroying biodiversity and contributing to climate change. Wildlife populations are declining rapidly as their habitats shrink. The melting of polar ice caps is raising sea levels and threatening coastal communities. It is our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. Each one of us can contribute to environmental conservation by making small changes in our daily habits. We should use public transport instead of private vehicles, save water, reduce the use of plastic, and plant trees in our neighbourhood. Governments must also implement strict environmental laws and promote the use of renewable energy sources. International cooperation is essential to address global environmental challenges.
