SSC CGL DEST Previous Year – Banwarilal the Simple Soul
Back to All Tests15:00
Banwarilal is a simple soul who believes whatever he is told. The village boys are aware of this and exploit his simplicity for a few laughs. One day, one of the boys told him that there was a ghost in the peepal tree outside the village. Banwarilal was terrified. He ran back to his house and locked himself inside. He was too afraid to venture out even during daylight. This continued for several days until the village elder found out what had happened. He called the boys and scolded them for misleading Banwarilal. He then went to Banwarilal's house and explained to him that there are no ghosts and that it was all a prank. Banwarilal came out, but he was still nervous. A kind-hearted man in the village decided to teach the boys a lesson. He disguised himself as a ghost one night and terrified the very boys who had tricked Banwarilal. The boys screamed and ran for their lives. The entire village laughed at them. After that incident, the boys never troubled Banwarilal again. The simple man went about his daily chores without any fear. Banwarilal had learnt nothing from the experience, but the boys had certainly learnt to respect innocent people. The village became peaceful and more harmonious as a result.
