Correct Typing Posture
Proper posture is essential for efficient, pain-free touch typing. Correct posture enhances endurance, reduces the risk of repetitive strain injuries, and improves typing speed. Sit upright with your back fully supported by your chair’s backrest, avoiding slouching to maintain spinal alignment. Keep your shoulders relaxed, not hunched, and position your elbows at a 90-degree angle to promote natural arm movement.
Align your body centrally with the keyboard, ensuring your nose is in line with the spacebar for symmetry. Your wrists should remain straight and slightly elevated above the keyboard—resting them on the desk or keyboard while typing can lead to strain. Place your feet flat on the floor with knees bent at a 90-degree angle to support proper blood flow and reduce leg fatigue. This balanced posture minimizes tension in your neck, back, and arms, allowing you to type comfortably for extended periods.
To stay fresh, take breaks every 30-60 minutes to stretch your arms, shoulders, and back. Simple stretches, like rolling your shoulders or extending your arms, can prevent stiffness. TouchTyping.online’s web app allows you to pause lessons during breaks and resume effortlessly.
